Photos of documents are a common mistake and can enable identity fraud. Avoid posting your location live while you are away from home, and be careful with photos that reveal your house, school, or vehicle number. Never share passwords or OTPs with anyone, and be cautious about sharing personal photos with anyone, because once sent, you lose control of them.
For your future, remember that employers, colleges, and others do look people up. Avoid posting content that is offensive, hateful, discriminatory, or that mocks others, along with anything illegal, and think carefully about angry rants or posts made in the heat of a moment, because these can resurface years later. Also avoid posting other people’s private information or photos without their consent, since respecting others’ privacy matters as much as protecting your own. A simple test helps, ask whether you would be comfortable with this being seen by your parents, a future employer, and a stranger, because effectively it can be. Post freely, just post thoughtfully.
