BCA and BTech both lead into the technology field, but they suit different students, and the better one depends on your goals, not on which sounds more prestigious.
BTech in Computer Science is a four year engineering degree with a strong foundation in mathematics, core computer science, and engineering subjects. It usually requires JEE or a state entrance exam, and a good BTech from a strong college often leads to better campus placements and higher starting salaries. It is also the expected qualification for certain core technical and research roles.
BCA is a three year degree focused more directly on application development, programming, and practical software skills. It does not require JEE, is generally easier to get into, and gets you into the workforce a year earlier. Many BCA graduates go on to do an MCA or build strong careers as developers.
Here is the honest truth about tech. Once you are a few years into your career, your skills, projects, and problem solving ability matter far more than whether you did BCA or BTech. Plenty of excellent developers come from BCA backgrounds, and plenty of BTech graduates struggle because they never built real skills.
Choose BTech if you can clear a decent entrance exam, want the stronger academic foundation, and value campus placements. Choose BCA if you want a faster, more practical, lower pressure route into software and you are willing to build your skills and portfolio actively. Whichever you pick, the projects you build and the skills you sharpen will decide your career far more than the degree name.
