To become an architect in India, you complete a five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree and then register with the Council of Architecture to practise legally.
The journey starts after Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. You clear an entrance exam, usually NATA or JEE Main Paper 2, to get into a recognised architecture college.
The B.Arch course blends design, engineering, and art, covering building design, structures, drawing, and history, along with practical studio work and a compulsory internship.
After graduating, you must register with the Council of Architecture, which allows you to call yourself an architect and practise. From there you can join a firm, work on projects, or start your own practice.
